The morphology and the sub-surface structure of the pre-Tertiary basement of Vegoritis-Ptolemais-Kozani graben, based on the drillings-geophysical and hydrogeological data of PPC (Public Power Corporation). It is clearly represented the separation of the overall graben in two individual basins, developed in perpendicular directions and separated by the Komanos Horst Block. This sub-surface morphotectonic separation is also accompanied by different stratigraphic successions between the two grabens. The most important role for the arrangement of this sub-surface structural view and geometry is the action of the ENE-WSW cross fault zones in a secondary evolutionary stage of the overall graben, defining 2nd-3rd order macrostructures such as Komanos horst and Bordo horst.
